I've had a scratchy, not necessarily sore, just mostly feels "dry" throat for about 5 or 6 straight days now. I've also had a headache for the same amount of time. By the way, aspirins don't really work on this.
So, at first I was thinking.... Okay, I'm coming down with a cold, no real biggie. In a day, I'll start the sneezing, and then the next day the coughing... I'll be over it in about a week. But it's been about 6 days, and there's no other symptoms besides the throat/head thing. No sneezing nor coughing. This is just too weird.

Maybe the humidity in your house is too low?
Not sure, because I'm at work most the time, and it seems to get worse as the day wears on.
Must be allergies, then.
