As you know I gave up buying dvds and books for Lent. Aunt Carol, you only know a LITTLE of the dvd "junkie" I am. It's really HARD this year. Especially when I see movies I really want to buy. The bad thing is, if you don't buy them the day they come out, you end up spending $5 or so MORE after Tues.
Thanks to www.tvshowsondvd.com and the GO section of the Indy Star, I know what dvds are coming out the next Tues.
Dvds are always released on Tuesdays. Walmarts (24 hour ones) put them out every Monday/Tues at midnight.
I USED to get off work at 11, go to Walmart, and hang around till midnight. Now, since I get off work at Midnight, there's no "hanging around." Anyway, I'm pretty much on first name basis with the nightshift dvd shelf stocker. He sees me, and the first thing out his mouth is "what dvd are you looking for this week?" Sometimes I just want one, and others two or three. He usually knows exactly what box it's in. If he's busy, he lets me dig through the stacks of boxes to find the movie(s) I want. I'm pretty pathetic aren't I? (Note to self.... Check and see if there's a such thing as DA support group...Dvds Anonymous. LOL)
So, I go to Walmart and what do I see? The Little House on the Prairie mini series on dvd for $19.99. That's a really good deal considering it's a two disk set. Then next to it was "Loves Long Journey". I do have it on tape, but there's just something about dvds. It's like they'll last for "eternity." So, those are my two movies I'm going to buy as soon as Lent is over.
By the way, I've heard that Lent doesn't "count" on weekends. Got to find out if that's true. If so............ Then again....... It would totally defeat the purpose of "giving up" something you love.............. :/

Poor, poor, poor Angela! You've got it bad!! ha Carrie got the new Little House on the Prairie dvd off of Half for 8.99. When you like something, you REALLY like it, don't you?? Are you stalking the dvd-unloader guy now? lololol
I didn't look at half or Ebay. I had to "remove myself from the temptation."
If I like a movie, I watch it over and over and over. Sunday nights between 8 PM and 3 AM are my movie nights. I "bake" a frozen pizza, pick 3 or 4 movies, and watch one right after the other. See??? I told you I don't have a life. LOL.
I had to buy another "Princess Bride" dvd, because I watched it so much that it started skipping. But hey, I bought a replacement at Walmart for only $7.50 and this one has interviews with the actors. Pretty cool huh?
As for the stalking accusation, well........ I only do my stalking after work on Mondays. ;)
Oh, and I pratically have Sound of Music memorized. LOL.
