After reading my cousin's blog (Hi Carrie!!) I thought; "Hey, this looks interesting. I might as well try it out." So, here goes......
As you may know, I work in factory. One thing some people don't know about factory work is that NOTHING stays the same. I have come to realize that sometimes God takes us out of our comfort zone and puts us elsewhere.
The machine I USED to run was in the middle of 7 other people. I became friends with all the coworkers that worked directly with me. All of us became a close circle of friends. I had their respect, and in turn they had mine. I was feeling pretty comfortable in my "zone."
Then things changed, most of my friends got moved and/or laid off, and my other friends were moved too. Which means I don't see them unless it's in passing. Now my new job I work with all new people, and I don't to anyone much. I read 5 books in 3 weeks. It made me realize how important my "old" friends are to me.
I was thinking the other day how sad it is that there some Christians that refuse to associate with nonchristians. I've actually gone to churches where everyone looks, acts, and dresses like each other. They have their "Christian" friends and NO ONE's allowed into their "group". One thing I learned is that most nonbelievers don't relate to bun wearing, dress wearing, uptight Christians. I'm not saying that's wrong, and I'm not saying to wear sleezy clothes that only covers an eighth of your body, but I know from expereince nonbelievers are more comfortable being friends with someone in jeans and a tee shirt, than someone who looks like they belong in an Amish community.
Here's something to ponder... If Christians don't TRY to befriend nonChristians, how in the world are nonChristians going to have the chance to become Christians?
This song comes to mind.......
"And If We Are The Body" by Casting Crowns
It's crowded in worship today
As she slips in trying to fade into the faces
The girls teasing laughter is carrying farther than they know
Farther than they know
Chorus:
But if we are the body
Why aren't His arms reaching?
Why aren't His hands healing?
Why aren't His words teaching?
And if we are the body
Why aren't His feet going?
Why is His love not showing them there is a way?
There is a way
A traveler is far away from home
He sheds his coat and quietly sinks into the back row
The weight of their judgmental glances
Tells him that his chances are better out on the road
(chorus)
Jesus paid much too high a price
For us to pick and choose who should come
And we are the body of Christ
(chorus)
Jesus is the way

Hey, not adapting well to change must be another "Taylor" trait!!! It's really hard for me to do something different when I've had the same routine for years! Hey, maybe we're the forerunners of a new tradition--blogging!
