I was telling one of my coworkers about the "greedy pizza hogs."
She told me that I should've walked over and said;
"There's some homeless people a couple miles down the road that would LOVE to have the rest of your pizza. Do you mind if I give them all of your leftovers? I bet it would feed their families for a month."
If memory serves me correctly, I believe it was Ashley that mentioned that all you can eat restaurants need to have pictures of starving children hanging on the walls.
Better yet...... Every time you go in the restaurant, each table has a starving kid to follow you around and sit with you. LOL. Just joking.

Great Idea
Carrie mentioned the "World's Largest Garage sale". I decided to do a search on it.
Here's some facts I found on it:
The World's Longest Yard Sale is a 4-day event. The dates will be determined each year by the First Thursday of the month of August. The event will officially take place that Thursday to the following Sunday for 4 days of yard sale heaven! It begins at Covington, KY, and runs South to Chattanooga, TN, then switches to the Lookout Mountain Parkway (new), continuing to Gadsden, AL.
The four day sale of Bargain Hunting Spans 4 States and covers 450 miles.
Items for sale includes antiques, clothes, crafts, furniture, tools, toys, and just about anything else you can imagine. Some vendors will sell food and refreshments along the way.
This year it's being held august 3 -6.
You can read more about it:
http://www.tourdekalb.com/yardsale.htm
http://www.danville-ky.com/BoyleCounty/127Sale.htm
By the way........ I'm on vacation that week. So....... What do you think? ;)
I KNOW there's no way we'll be able to see it all, but we could see a big portion of it. LOL.
Hum........ Maybe bribe my dad into letting me take the full size van, or better yet....... Rent a small UHAUL trailer. LOL.
That really sounds like fun.

I have to let this out.......
On one of the days.... (Tues?) we ate at Mr. Gati's. It's the all you can eat pasta and pizza place...
This couple came in and went to get their food. They came back with at least 10 plates FULL of food. My parents mentioned something about how greedy that was. I spoke up and told them not to judge, because you don't know the situation. Perhaps their legs were tired, and they only wanted to go up only one time........ HOWEVER after watching this couple I was not only embarrassed that I defended them, but also disgusted and annoyed.
This couple was eating the toppings off the pizza and throwing the rest away.... They ended up with close to 30 plates of topless pizzas.
If you took all the slices they didn't eat, you would've had I would say 10 large pizzas. It literally annoyed me.
I understand it's an all you can eat place, but come on....have some common sense....... That was just plain greedy and wasteful.
I think all you can eat places need a rule............ You can have all you want AS LONG AS you eat MAJORITY of the food on your plate. Sure, granted I understand taking a little something to "Try" , and not liking it is one thing, but to throw 7/8 of the food away, and go up for more? I can see 5 and 7 year olds doing that.... NOT adults.... We're supposed to be "big" and know how to eat in public.
ARRGH!!!!!!!!! I just discovered another pet peeve....... Greedy and wasteful people.

The Miracle
We left for TN at 4:30 Tuesday morning. (Dad's the morning person... NOT me.)
On Tues. evening, we got tickets for "Miracle." It's about $42.00 a person, unless you can prove you live around there, then it's only $9.00. We didn't know about the discount, so we paid full price. However.... The show is WELL worth the money.
It starts with The creation. The ceiling is rigged up with TONS of little lights to look like stars.
Then it goes the the battle (pretty cool sword fight) in which the angels ban Satan out of Heaven.... Yes, the "angels" are rigged up to fly. The Angels were really impressive.... The wings actually move as though they're real throughout the whole play.
Then it goes on to Adam and Eve......Then it skips to the New Testament.
The water into wine scene was impressive as well... There's a fountain on stage pouring water.... Within minutes, the water turns into a darker color.
Oh yes, and the demon possessed woman was very convincing.
The crucifixion scene was well done also. Whenever the soldiers hit "Jesus" with the clubs, blood would be left behind on his chest.
Then it ends with Jesus's resurrection and ascention. (That sure doesn't look like it's spelled right.)
The whole show is a musical and there's not very many speaking parts.
Before the show, they had a "Roman soldier" on horseback standing by the road "advertising". Also, they had 3 lambs and a HUGE camel outside to pet.
We were in the second row, center section. Really good seats. I was afraid at first that we'd have to be trying to look up and over the stage, but it worked out great. Most of the actors are right in front of the stage. The only bad thing was....... We were directly in front of the speakers, and I had a small problem with the fog from the fog machine. Being that close to the front, that fog was "right in our laps." I thought I was going to have to grab my asthma inhaler.
I can see how it could get better and better each year.
They also have an AMAZING gift shop, which is open all day.... Not JUST during the show.
They also have popcorn and drinks (popcorn $3.00 a bag, drinks $2.00 each). Oh, and when you walk in, it's like Dixie Stampede.... You get a picture taken in front of a green sheet. During intermission you can buy the picture.. For $19.00 you get a "Miracle" postcard, magnet, the picture in a nice frame, and your choice of either a T shirt or a mug. I thought the price wasn't that bad for all you get for it.
Oh, and the souvenir shirts are $12.99 a shirt, and available in several colors. Very reasonable for a shirt I thought.
Okay, I'm finished advertising.....
Another thing we discovered.... If you're in Pigeon Forge and you want to see a show....... Buy your tickets at "Black Bear Jamboree." You can buy discount tickets for all the shows except Black Bear Jamboree... We only paid $41.25 for each ticket... If you bought them at Miracle theater, it would've been $48 a person. I know it's only $6.75, but that's still $6.75.
So, what you do is go up there, and ask Ashley to get your tickets. LOL.

I've decided something.............
Our Nashville trip made me think about something. (Ooh, thinking, dangerous pastime I know.)
I have decided that it's not enough for us (Carrie, Aunt Carol, Chris, my mom, and I) to get together a couple times a year. I think we need to get together (all of us) about once a month. Perhaps not on the grand scale of Nashville, although, I do think that should be a yearly thing..... Wink, wink, nod, nod, nudge, nudge, hint, hint, knowwhatImean?
I know we mentioned a few places, but I think we should get together even if it's just for a Sat. lunch, or even a breakfast during the week. And Carrie, if you need to bring the boys..... Fine... No problem. We could find some "kid friendly" places.
I really don't get to see Carrie and Carol all that much, and when I do there's usually other family members demanding attention. Truth is, I really do love and miss you two, and I want to spend more time with the both of you.
I've discovered that life is too short to just make plans, and never follow through, so let me know what you think of this idea.
Love you!!!!!

The case of the appearing money and the past revealed!!!
We went to Nashville today, and after some discussion, Chris and I decided it would be best (and most comfortable) if she drove her minivan.
I had tried unsuccessfully to give her some money for gas, but she refused. However, on the way home I THOUGHT I saw Carrie slip some money in Chris's purse. I thought..... hum..... If Carrie did that without Chris seeing her, MAYBE I could do the same. A VERY good opportunity came up when she asked me to look for her chapstick. So, I threw some money in her purse. Then I don't know when she did it, but Carol put some money under her purse. When we got back to my church, Chris moved her purse, I saw the money sitting there. I said "Chris, I think some money fell from your purse." After trying to blame it on Carol, Chris gave in and kept the money.
I wasn't home for a half an hour when my cell rang. Chris wanted to know if I put money in her purse. I laughed, and said I think we all pitched in. She said "I was looking in my purse and I came home with more money than I left home with. I made a profit going to Nashville." She also said:
"Email Carrie and tell her, if you did put money in my purse........ You're a stinker." That is a quote directly from Chris.
So, Carrie, I told you, and I had a very good laugh about that.
I also learned some things about myself that I didn't know...........
I didn't know that I got Carrie in trouble when I was a kid because I asked her what a certain four letter word meant, and she didn't know, so she asked her mom....... Right during church. Carrie, since you remember it, it must've traumatized you. I am so sorry. LOL.
And I really do feel bad for traumatized Aaron on the swinging bridge.
Between both of you, maybe I should pay for your counseling......... Then again.. Maybe not. ROTFL

I'm impressed
Tonight the local high school put on the play "Annie." I didn't have any plans, so I went. Of course since these are high school kids, they weren't "professional," but it was entertaining.
It was one of the extra orphans that impressed me though. There was this girl just standing there. She only knew a line or two of the songs, and didn't know any of the motions. At one point, one of the other girls, grabbed her hand, and half dragged her to the other side of the stage. It made me wonder if the poor girl was autistic.
During intermission, I looked at the program and there was one sentence that stood out: "One of the extra orphans is a freshman, Anna.."
I went home and directly went to Austin, (who knows all these kids.) and asked him why this girl is so special that she got her own sentence. He hesitated, cleared his throat, and said..... "She's mentally challenged."
I was impressed how the director gives EVERYONE an opportunity to be in the play. They don't take just the best of the best. Her smile was the brightest on stage during the standing ovation. If you saw her, you would've thought she was the main character the way she was smiling and bowing. I actually found myself getting a little teary eyed.
Oh, and then I found out that the dog they had to be Sandy had been training to be a seeing eye dog. The trainer didn't like his loud barking, so they had the poor dog's vocal cords cut. The trainer was told that it would grow back, but it didn't. Since the dog can't bark, he was dropped from the program, and sent to the humane society. He was adopted by a family close by.
Over all, I was completely impressed by these kids, and they worked so hard just for a few short hours. They did a WONDERFUL job.

Next week!!!
It didn't dawn on me until today how busy next week is going to be....(Not to worry....It's a good busy.)
This Sat. the high school is putting on "Annie". Austin WAS going to have a speaking part in it, but dropped out. Might see if mom wants to go with me.
Sunday is church (of course). We're having singers from GBS in the morning service.
Monday is the Nashville trip. I don't know who is more excited about this. I think it's a four way tie.
Then I'm going to TN with my parents. We were going to go down on Wens. and come back Friday.... However, my dad asked me today how I'd feel about leaving Tues, and coming back Friday. I told him it didn't bother me either way.
My aunt Becky told us that if you go to stoplight 3 in Gatlinburg and turn left (I believe) there's a place called "The Arts and Crafts Community". It's 5 or 6 miles long and supposed to make Nashville (IN) look like a tiny ghost town. So, one day we're going to check that out.
Then on another day (Thurs? Fri?) we're loading all of Ashley and Brandon's things in the U Haul. (great fun.) *rolling eyes*........
Hum............... Hey Ashley....... Does JBC still have that HUGE mud hole where they're pumping out the pond? Maybe I can walk in the mud and get a time out...
I just HAD to throw that in. I just figured that if it worked for Jared......Maybe...... Maybe not.
Sorry Carrie, I hope you're not offended. If so, I apologize.
